From ScanApp to Lego demos — What you need to know about Security & Policing 2025
The Security & Policing 2025 was the biggest ever with over 400 exhibitors — and we showcased our government digital transformation expertise through engaging and interactive demonstrations.
The event was a great opportunity to dive deep into the latest trends and innovations shaping the security and policing landscape.
Beyond connecting with our peers at the exhibition, we caught some of the fantastic speaker sessions.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Director General of Border Force Phil Douglas to our stand. He spoke about the ScanApp solution we helped build for Border Force, which addresses real-world challenges.
He said the service enables frontline Border Force staff to be more productive and effective by automating many of the previously manual processes undertaken to track illegal contraband goods coming into our UK ports.
What we heard…
As mentioned, the event was an opportunity to hear from different organisations and speakers.
The Police Digital Service highlighted key realignments with the publishing of its strategy refresh this year. The strategy will take a proactive approach to addressing key challenges, such as prioritising the modernisation of legacy systems and streamlining processes — issues we’ve helped many government organisations tackle.
Central to their initiative is the emphasis on equipping personnel with the necessary skills to enhance service delivery to the public to protect and keep us all safe. The commitment to optimising operations and delivering improved services remains a core focus of its strategy.
An interesting session by Director General for Immigration Enforcement at the Home Office, Bas Javid looked at how the UK is working and forming partnerships across the globe to halt human trafficking. Meanwhile Katie Gardiner, Director Police and Public Protection Technology, Digital Data & Technology, emphasised the important role of transformation and digitalisation in effectively fighting complex criminal activities.
What we did…
The business conversations and networking opportunities were invaluable, and we met with really interesting organisations and people.
If you didn’t visit our stand, you missed out!
Our striking brand resonated, as did our engaging collateral. Take a look at the video we showcased that highlights our capabilities.
We also distributed a booklet showcasing our expertise and impact in Border and National Security. The design also received praise — check it out.
Finally, the highlight of our stand was the Lego demonstration.

This interactive display showcased a key feature of the award-winning ScanApp solution. For Border Force, we used AI and computer vision anomaly detection to automate cargo processing.
The Lego mockup demonstrated how our solution accelerates cargo processing — a webcam connected to a machine-learning vision model scanned the Lego truck to identify mock contraband.
The hands-on demo allowed visitors to see how our innovative solutions are helping the UK create safe, secure and frictionless digital borders.
