Data Mesh in Government
The challenge for every department is to make better decisions with data. Past efforts to provide a centralised data analytics function have failed to deliver because single, overburdened teams are being asked to do too much by too many people.
A different approach is needed. One which brings the principles of agile to data architectures: empowering autonomous teams to deliver data analytics for policy and operations teams whilst following common patterns and using common tools across the organisation.
That is why Data Mesh offers a way out of the critical paths of monolithic data platforms. This is the approach we have recommended and worked with DLUHC to deliver.
